Current version 10.04.2023
Entity Profile & Application
The Spire Entity Profile has been updated to include Advisory, Broker-Dealer and Direct Business. The following are some of the key changes:
- Select the line of business (advisory, broker-dealer or direct business). For advisory, the form will be the “client profile” as required in the past with the addition of the Reg BI questions. For broker-dealer/direct business, this form will be required every time a new account is opened.
- Beneficial Owners—This section applies only to business entities. Not trusts or retirement plans. All identified Beneficial Owners must complete an Individual Client Profile, even if they are listed as an Authorized Agent in Section 2 and 3.
- Authorized Agents—Identify all trustees and other Authorized Agents of the entity in section 2 & 3. If there are more than 2, please use additional pages to list these individuals. Trustees must complete an Individual Client Profile.
- Sections 4 – 7—These sections refer to the information about the entity, not the Authorized Agents.
- For all entities, supporting documentation is required to accompany the form (e.g. corporation documents, trust documents, retirement plan agreement, etc.).
- Regulation Best Interest questions must be answered for all lines of business. The only exceptions are direct business annuities and alternative products and changes of broker dealer. These latter categories have their own respective disclosures/forms which have those questions built in.
NOTE:
Individual Account Application
The only change to this form is the addition of the Reg BI questions. Please use this for Direct Business.
